Postponed Winter. Amongst Other Things.

After 2 months traveling across Mexico, I am once again on US soil and picking up where I last left off. Having decided to postpone my return to Minneapolis's mild-winter, I will brave this new world, known to me, as California. Much like Christopher Columbus, minus overestimating my travels and making friends with local natives- only to put into slavery, I am taking on this unexpected land and all it has to offer.

Back in December, while scrambling getting ready for my trip, W&L did a photo shoot with the ever-so-talented, Mr. Cole Weiland, only to leave the photo shoot on the back burner until I could be reunited with my computer.
We shot these photographs on a cold day in front of Hiawatha's grainbelt mural  by Sara Rotholz Weiner in Minneapolis, who took this massive construction, and used it as her canvas. Painting abstract geometric shapes formed by shadows which the nearby power lines display when the light hits it just right, and accompanied by paintings of historical scenes and images of the night sky, this tattered mural is worth taking a look-see.
Now, two months later, staring at these photos on my computer, I am looking forward to using this faded geometric backdrop as inspiration for future projects.
Till then...
