Away with an online inquisition

Officially, I have left Minneapolis. Away from comfort of a workspace/home, and only traveling with a backpack of clothes, and a hard brown rectangular 80's-esque brief case, I am curious how keeping this blog updated will pan out. Already, being without a computer- having to borrow a mere strangers desktop in the wee hours of the night, and my "suspicious" briefcase of jewelry and art supplies  setting off hazardous material alarms, and receiving an awkward pat down by a petite woman who came up to my shoulders at airport security, I wonder how I will pull this off.
Alas, I figure I have until January 3rd to think about things such as being thrown on the internet cafes in Mexico. So, till then, I will sit here comfortably awaiting for my 26th birthday to roll around at the stroke midnight, gathering ideas, taking notes, and checking out work and inspiration online and in my California surroundings.

ARIZONA HIGHWAYS (Part 1)

Arizona Highways is a 85 year old publication and still active today. As as a birthday gift, my friend Lindsey  knew exactly what to get me while carousing a California antique store. With my admiration for textiles and beads, especially anything coming out of the Southwest, Lindsey knew that this simple gift of two Arizona Highways magazines from the early 70's would be the perfect decade and gift for me. Indeed it 'twas.

Craft Show Holiday Shuffle

For the last month, Lore and I have been feverishly beading and sewing to get our goods ready for five craft shows and restocking our accessories for the holiday season at I Like You, Honeycomb Salon, and Gallery 360. Now we can take a pause and let our eyes and hands relax. Instead, I have been using my trigger finger taking photos for our Etsy site and gearing up for my winter voyage to California, Mexico, and Central America. Fear not, for this is the reason we will be blogging- keeping each other posted with what we are making while I am off selling our jewelry with my moving shop (aka my suitcase and giant beach umbrella). Lore and I have become real close in the last few years with making our Witt and Lore accessories and  me sleeping on her couch for the last three months. To think not having her around for the next 3-6 months makes me a little teary eyed, but we will have the blog to keep us updated.
